Read, Write, Think

I love finding new FREE resources that would make a great addition to my lesson plans. Read, Write, Think is a resource mentioned in the course book, Assistive Technology in the Classroom: Enhancing the School Experience of Students with Disabilities. I decided to review the website and LOVED it. This website is easy to access and not only offers teachers tons of FREE resources but has a parent section as well. This website is part of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) which is aligned to common core standards and specific state standards. Read, Write, Think offers lesson plans, interactive activities for students to supplement lesson plans, and a parent resource page. The lesson plans include resources and preparation, the instructional outline, related resources, printable resources and standards. Students with learning disabilities and autism would benefit from this website because it offers great activities for supplemental material or repetition. I found great graphic organizers that would help students organize their work. Students with visual impairments would benefit from the voice directions for the activities. Teachers can create beneficial assignments in minutes. Some of the interactive activities I found useful were the word sorts, make your own crossword puzzles, and themed poems. This website makes it easy for students to access and save or print their final products. There is no need for a log in or password, just enter the website and enjoy unlimited free resources at the click of a button!  Feel free to click the link above and see for yourself!
Take a look below at the crossword puzzle I created within minutes to supplement my 3rd grade branches of government lesson.
