After completing the webinar on “Assistive Technology Solutions for Reading” from Tools for
Life: Georgia’s Assistive Technology Act Program, I decided to blog about
the application Visual Schedule Planner.
Visual Schedule Planner is beneficial to students with developmental disabilities,
autism, and reading disabilities. This app allows users to complete a daily
schedule of the events in their day using words and pictures. The Visual Schedule Planner will read events
to the user or remind users of important daily tasks. It has a day, week, or
month view of events. The student can check off tasks as they complete the
tasks while using a timer to stay on task. This visual schedule will help students
who cannot read paragraphs filled with directions. This application is
available through Apple products for $14.99.

I really liked this feature as well. This is something I would definitely use with my students but also for myself (I love to make lists to get things done)! This is an app I never knew existed but would love to eventually purchase to use in my future classroom.
