Voice Dream

After completing the webinar on “Assistive Technology Solutions for Reading” from Tools for Life: Georgia’s Assistive Technology Act Program, I decided to blog about the application Voice Dream. Voice Dream is an app that will benefit students and individuals with reading disabilities with many of its features. This app will turn text into speech with many options of voices and languages. It is full screen which will eliminate distractions for readers. The app has a highlighting feature that helps student’s focus on specific words or sentences. The user can change the font size, color, or spacing to their individual preference. There is a feature that allows the user to pause, stop, or change the speed of reading. Voice Dream also allows you to highlight and take notes. This application is available through Apple and Android devices and allows users to read from PDF files, word documents, power points, Keynotes, and much more! It is available for download at a price of $9.99.

  1. I also talked about Voice Dream in my blog! I think this resource offers SO much for students who are practicing reading skills. The thing that interested me the most was the fact that students have the ability to change the speed of the readers voice. Voice Dream has so many different options that can accommodate for all types of learners!!
