AT Resource: Voice Output Communication Device
Output communication devices have
been used for students and individuals
to communicate wants and needs by pressing a button. These devices help
students with communication disorders and autism break down communication
barriers. This allows nonverbal students to become part of the learning
process. Some devices used in classrooms are: Big Mack, talk pad, voice in the box, cheap talk 4,
and step by step communicator. Some picture examples are below.
